The Center supports the notion that one’s growth and development is linked to the richness of one’s experiences. Typically, this is most effectively achieved through an individual’s dynamic participation in his community. For it is here that one learns the values and norms of the community. Through this learning and shared participation, one gains acceptance and inclusion. Barriers that separate individuals are broken down.
Whether through employment, recreation, volunteer, social groups, education, arts, or other means, Providence Center is connecting adults with developmental disabilities to their communities. The Center is constantly seeking community support in our efforts to successfully link individuals to meaningful activities in their communities. The Pottery program assists individuals
in their development of appropriate work
skills and habits using pottery as the
medium. Individuals are encouraged to
make choices pertaining to their work
