Young Man Providence Center Services
For more than 40 years, Providence Center, Inc. has been dedicated to the well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities. From its origins in 1961 in a donated farmhouse, the Center has grown and now serves more than 470 adults in seven locations throughout Anne Arundel County.

The Center’s mission to provide opportunities that allow adults with disabilities to enjoy increased self-determination in leading more independent, valuable, and functioning roles in society. These programs are professionally managed and individually designed to empower these adults to exercise higher levels of control over their lives. The Center offers services which include:

Vocational training
Instruction in the arts
Sheltered and supported employment
Job development and placement services
Adult day care
Leisure and recreational programs
Senior retirement support
In-home and job support

Throughout its history, the Center has remained committed to its original belief that community integration is the key to ensuring happy and productive lives for adults with developmental disabilities. Services are focused on the individual, offering one-on-one assistance for many of our consumers, helping each person to achieve his goals.

The Pottery program assists individuals in their development of appropriate work skills and habits using pottery as the medium. Individuals are encouraged to make choices pertaining to their work and social life, build independence, and participate in activities in their communities.
